➧ 2020: Tarun Bajaj takes over as the new Economic Affairs Secretary. Tarun Bajaj is a 1988 batch IAS officer. He was earlier serving as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. He replaced Atanu Chakraborty, who retired on April 30, 2020.

➧ 2020: India's largest paint manufacturer, Asian Paints, announced that it will start making hand and surface sanitizers under the brand Viroprotek. The sanitizer will be manufactured at the Asian Paints plant in Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

➧ 2020: Ajay Tirkey takes over as Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development. He is a 1987 batch IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh cadre. He replaces Rabindra Panwar, who retired on April 30, 2020.

➧ 2020: Jharkhand becomes the first state to bring back its migrant labour by train from Telangana. On the request of the state government, the special train was deployed between Lingampalli railway station in Telangana and Hatia railway station in Ranchi.
